    What's the format? Knockout, groups?

Knockout. 12 teams. 8 in first round, then QF, SF and final.

NIFA teams well into their season while FAI teams havent had a competitve game yet. Does this usually have an effect?

Not excessively, LOI teams normally do better all things considered.

It's the biggest statement of the gulf in the two leagues that Northern teams don't walk over the Irish sides on match fitness alone

    Its back:-Dback

    Bright start for Pats.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,655 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

I can see a red card coming in the Pats game. Same lad with 3 tackles all could be yellows.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,655 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Stonewall peno for pats turned down.

Cork 1 up, Drogs 2 up.

iDave, ya might be getting an idea now if watching. Pats dominating too.

Pats game any good so far?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,655 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Well the pitch is heavy and Pats are rusty, but its enjoyable. Should be 1 or 2 up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,655 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Portadown with 1 back, Cork with a second.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,655 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

    Glentoran miss abysmally in a 2 v 1 situation.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,591 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Crinklewood

    Pitch seems in terrible condition.

    Pats almost take the lead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,655 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

    Yeah its cutting up badly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,591 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Crinklewood

Are Pats yet to agree a sponsorship deal this season?.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,655 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Must be the case. Didnt know Nissan had pulled out.

Cheers. Unless the deal does not include Setanta Cup.

Any way to watch the Cork City game?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,591 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Crinklewood

Some of the finishing from Pats has been woeful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,655 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Dont think there is unfortunately. Would be handy if a streaming service was available.

Mr Crinklewood, cant see why it wouldnt. Had it last year AFAIR. Im sure a Pats fan can fill us in.

Forrester should be only one shooting. Murphy off is odd, he can score goals and was doing well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,591 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Crinklewood

    Pats sub:-

    Murphy on for Keegan.

    12 minutes left.

    Another sub:-

    Carroll on for McFaul.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,655 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

    Carrol for McFaul now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,468 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Shams 0-1 Coleraine with a few minutes left I am guessing.
    Shamrock Rovers 0 - 1 Coleraine
59' - Quigley was very poor tonight not a shock to see him being taken off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,655 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

    Prob bout 15 minutesleft.

    Close by Pats.

Ah just realised the Pats game kicked off 15 minutes before the rest.

Cork win by 4, Drogheda win 3-2, Pats draw and Shams lose.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,558 ✭✭✭✭dreamers75

We werent great midfield 3 didnt gel, them lumping us out of it didnt help. Pitch heavily waterlogged in 2 corners didnt help the game.

We dont have a sponsor yet, wont be Nissan anyway.

Why did a group of Bohs fans show up with Glentoran fans? Dont you lot hate Rovers or something? Tried to get into Taveys pub, assume its a bohs tradition.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,056 ✭✭✭applehunter

Comfortable 4-0 win for City tonight.

Keeper McNulty didn't have save to make.

Ian Tuner with a superb free kick before half time and Gearoid Morrissey goal were the highlights.

Very impressed with new singing Daryl Kavanagh. Knew he was a good player from his days a Limerick and he is going to be a very important player for us. Holds the play up very well and took his chance when he got it.

Decent game between Drogheda and Portadown. Drogs flew out of the blocks and were 2 up inside 15 minutes. Gary O'Neill had a great chance to make it 3 but after doing the hard work he lifted it over the keeper but over the bar too. Cathay Brady was unlucky when he lobbed the keeper but it was too high. Ports first goal came after drogs couldn't clear a long throw in, their second goal was an absolute cracker. Right in the top corner. Gavin Brennan got the third goal after being but in by his brother. Few tasty challenges put in by Portadown, one which looked 2 footed on Ryan Brennan.

Crowd was a lot bigger than i think anyone expected. We were even treated to a rendition of God save the queen.

Better than (I) expected crowd at richmond.

    Order is restored:pac:

Fitness and Rovers' shotshyness were the difference in Tallaght. Quigley was combining well in the first half, but faded away. Same with SOC and particularly Finn. Coleraine should've got a second on the break in the second half, but didn't really push forward at all, 5-4-1 pretty much all game.

And Rule Britannia and those Portadown fans really love their flegs.:D
Burns should have walked for his lunge on Ryan Brennan. Overall a great game, season ahead looks well for the Drogs, squad definitely improved on last year. O'Connor and O'Neill played very well and the two Brennan boys were impressive. Bring Sava and McNally back in and it's a finish near the top again.

Impressive win for Cork as well.

    Ah great to be back.

They didnt go to the match, they started a fight at taveys pub then moved back towards Kilmainham.

    Any predictions for tonight?
I reckon Cork will go through despite Cliftonville beating them tonight. Cork have a lot of players missing though.
Rovers one is hard to call, but I think they will make it.
Portadown were poor on Saturday and I don't think they will beat the Drogs tonight.
Think Pats will struggle and I reckon they will be the only AL team to go out.

    Good preview by extratime here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,056 ✭✭✭applehunter

Cork should be able to field close to our strongest side. All depends on what Cliftonville do. Tie is over anyway.

All 4 LOI sides to progress for me.

Portadown are missing a good few - including a certain Mr. Twigg.

If our game goes ahead could be tough for us.

Expect 3 wins and us to draw/lose on penos.

1-0 up with 25 minutes gone.

    Any doubts extinguished now

Young managers seem to have grown up playing too much Play Station and watching Barcelona.

We are overpassing way too much and causing ourselves trouble. With all this possession we are doing so little and one miss pass and they seem in.

This new shave all the hair around the sides is also just awful.
