Hi, I'm looking for advice regarding a Home Security Alarm System - HKC which is due for service at the moment.

    I'm wondering -
    1) how I can go about servicing it myself.

    2) how do I turn off the Repeat Reminder by the system - that I need to " Call the Engineer "

    3) what battery types are required &
    4) how do I replace the batteries myself if necessary

I don't have the System Manual I'm afraid.

    All advice is much appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hi,
An alarm service should include the following checks.
    Inspection of wiring and connections.
Resistance check on alk cabling and detection device.
Voltage checks on mains power , power supplies and battery's , including currant consumption tests to ensure required battery life in the event of power cuts. Allowing for the maximum of 3 re arms in a 24 hour period.
Checking and testing of all warning devices.
Checking and testing of all signalling devices.
Checking and testing of all detection devices.
Resistence check on all tamper circuit's.
Check all setting/ unsettling modes and access routes.
The battery type is 12 volt dc rechargeable 7 amp.
You simply remove the old battery and replace with the new one observing the polarity of the connections.
You will need the engineer code to change the service interval settings.
I'll PM the manual to you.
