diagnostics cant read car

    hi all i have a 2006 ssangyong rodius 2.7 and the engine light is on it has being two garages and they cant read the ecu they say that the car is not obd 2 our eobd so does any one know what system this car uses for diagnostics.
    there is no ssangyong dealer where i live thanks for reading

    Hi I have a customer who's wife drives a similar car same brand also and none of our diagnostics will connect to it either. I'd say your going to need to go main dealer route to have that plugged on I'm afraid

    I thought that EODB was mandatory for all cars sold in Europe since 2004?

    Yes it was that's the plug type used its not the protocol used to connect to it tho. Ah awfull lot of Asian and Japanese cars need there own dealer diagnostics.

    Where are you located? I am pretty sure a Launch diagnostic machine can read these.

    George is right The launch will read most of these but we've had to use the carman on the odd one that the launch wouldn't work on
