A chap gone from winter bike to new racing machine in the past week.Pedals transferred from winter bike to new machine and also the same shoes being used. His foot has now flared up at the back of the foot.Any ideas or clues? My gut feeling is that its down to a slightly higher saddle position.Anything else to try do you think?
    Thanks in advance

You pal could measure up the geometry of his Winter hack and try and replicate as close as possible on the other bike. Failing that working he probably could do with a professional bike fit.

It’s probably worth investigating that the foot issue is definitely down to the new bike, has he tried the old bike since the problem started? It could just be coincidental and symptomatic of some other problem. Again a bike fit might be the best route to go.

back of the foot is prob where achilles ties into heel, saddle position id say. check height but also saddle position, might need to slide it back or forward.
