    Hello

A friend put windows 8 on his previously vista machine and hates it...I advised him to put windows 7 on it because I feel its far better than vista and still has the traditional windows feel.

I see on dabs.ie that it costs around €95

Anyone know if it can be bought cheaper elsewhere?

The best feature of windows 8 is hit the windows key ( between alt and ctrl bottom left) and "D"

Windows+D brings up the traditional windows desktop.

It won't downgrade from 8 AFAIK, he needs a full copy.

    Hi sponge bob

the problem is my mate isn't great with computers and doesn't have enough interest to learn the basics...I have showed him how to navigate around but he forgets 2 mins after I show him.

The fact that the "windows orb" is missing in the bottom left totally throws him off...maybe I'll install Start Menu 8 from iobit and see if he finds it easier.

    thanks

Look up classic feel for windows 8. Puts the windows orb back in the bottom left, acts as the classic start menu. It also loads windows onto the desktop and not the apps.
