I have never considered leaving Ireland for any reason whether it be economic or just to go see the world. But if I have to spend another morning moping around the house because of the course being closed I am going to have to think about heading to Spain or something:-(

And to make it worse the only range near me is usually closed when it rains too!

What country you living in lads, it's a beautiful day here in Kerry and both local courses are open, although I can't be arsed playing again today after playing yesterday.

Athlone was open all weekend and in great condition, only one of the holes was significantly wet (the 4th) but still very playable.

    I played twice! :D

Was wonder when you would pop in with a comment!!!

Its a wonder it was wet - there was some significant drainage work done there recently, was bone dry the last time i was down. Then again we got some rain the last few days.

It was more of the natural flooding that takes place on that holes every year. In the area where the stupid course architect should have put the pond, instead of on the other side of the hole. God only knows what the moron was thinking.

In days gone by the entire fairway would be under a foot of water and you'd have to lay up short with one shot and then attempt the 100-150 yard carry with your next one depending on how far back you were off the tee :)

And yes, we got some unreal rain, combined with the snow melt from a couple of days ago coming down the shannon from up north, we got a bit of extra water more than usual
