Any rough idea how much it would cost ? My father is looking to for an F30 but I don't see it listed on revenue

Based on CO2 emissions now so it will depend on which engine and transmission he wants. Options will also cost him on a car that new.

Bear in mind that there is very limited supply of pre-reg./ex-demo. F30s in the UK at present, assuming he wants a 320d/318d, all of the olympic cars are long sold.

Some good news is that the F30 auto doesn't impose a hike in CO2, SE and above are pretty well specced as standard too.

Also take note that if the car is less than 6 months old or has less than 6k km on the clock it will be deemed brand new by Revenue and you will be charged VAT as well as VRT. VRT will also be calculated on any extras that were not standard on the Irish model so becareful with the ex Olympic cars as these were very high spec.

Beware, fantastic car inside and out but sits on absolutely rock-hard suspension, even worse with bigger optional alloys, unless you get the adjustable damping (a £700 option).

I was in a UK dealer this morning looking for a 318d/320d SE/Sport auto with leather and heated seats. They had one matching car in group stock in bright red!

Bewildering variety of options and trim levels on the F30.

He has an msport e90 already so suspension is firm on that

He'll be used to it then! I took the 320d M Sport on a test drive over some broken road surfaces and it was pretty crashy on those. It's a no-cost option to delete the lowered suspension but I don't know if anybody does.

I am test driving a 320i M Sport with the adaptive damping next Saturday so I'll see what that's like. I'll be buying a 318d.

Very nice interior on the M Sport.

There's a brand new 3 series msport with the sport suspension deleted in joe Duffy bmw in Finglas. Suspension is fine, it's the bloody run flat tyres that kill the ride!

In case your father is still looking BMW have just released a number of April 2012 F30 318d Luxury models with 5-6k miles on them into their Approved Used Scheme.

I've just bought one of them.

The 320i M Sport X-drive with the adaptive suspension was absolutely amazing, but just too expensive.

There are no "Olympic" 320d ED autos left, but there are a few 320d ED manuals.
