Classic Insurance - 6 Months

Given that the majority of people's cars are probably off the road for 6 months of the year, has anyone decided to have the car uninsured for this period ?

I know that there probably isn't a company that does 6 month insurance, but even if you had a full year policy, many companies will allow cancellation and pro-rata refund.

Anyone tried this or would you view it as too much risk for the hassle to leave your motor uninsured? Does Campion support this type of refund model I wonder?

Why? A full year is cheap enough to have your car(s) insured regardless of being driven or not, IMHO.

The premiums are so low and by the time you take a cancellation fee / administration fee into account it wouldn't be worth the hassle. Fire and theft is good to have all year round in any case.

Isn't limited mileage the same thing really, just do all your mileage in the summer?

As said already fire and theft.

Plus I use my classic regularly, not just in summer. ;)
