Hello guys, i was testing out my gun today and while running a new 9.6V I realised that it heated up along with the motor. Cant remember if this happened with the 8.4 So can anyone clarify this. It's not even hot really it's just warm. It's not burning the pistol grip and there's no smell of the batter either. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like the nother is in to tight in the pistol grip.

    Lossen it off a tad.

It will if you come out to far.
the trick is to tighten till you hear it slow the moter down a tad, then turn it back out a half turn.

easyest done on full auto while tighting it at the same time

If the grip and motor is heating up with the 9.6 and wasn't on a 8.4 the odds are you are getting resistance on the wiring. Its reasons like this some people change to low resistance wiring on the aeg.

Heat build up can be caused by numerous reasons, heavy springs although 120 motors are designed to pull 120 springs, gear issues, battery issues, I would not think wiring itself is the issue to be honest a direct short will cause heatbuild up but the fuse should prevent that in the firsr place, check for weak motor connections or dry solder joints if you have deans.

You could also check the brushes in your motor. And inspect the internals for any signs of damage.

You will always get a bit of heat buildup, motors AC or DC will always generate heat and subsequently anything connected to it.

I just read a part of his post which said its warm, which is normal, that and using the higher voltage battery just put more oomph on his motor so there is bound to be a bit of heat generated.

Some motors run hot; it depends on the efficiency of the motor, as well as how much current they require to run. Higher speed motors require more current to run, and as a result tend to heat up quicker.

Excessive heat is caused by a build up of resistance, either by poor solder joints, thin wiring, poor connectors (*cough* tamiya *cough*) etc.

I wouldn't worry about it though - with a 9.6v your gun is cycling faster, and the heat is bound to build up quicker; since it's only getting 'warm' it's not something that I'd be in any great hurry to alleviate

Thanks lads just wanted to be sure that it wasn't something that I should game with until it's fixed. (Inari)Also I suppose it would make sense for it to heat up if it's running faster......don't see how I didn't think of that:confused:!!!!
I'm using Tamiya connectors at the moment and I dont plan on changing 6 batteries to deans and my newly upgraded gun to deans:D
Last time I tried to change the burnt out tamiya on my stock battery I ended up burning myself!!
Anyway thanks lads for all the help :)
