I had a 120GB version of a OCZ VERTEX 2 SATA II 3.5" SSD from hardwareversand.de. It crapped out after 16 months, so I sent it back. They've offered to replace it with this; Samsung SSD 840 120GB SATA 6Gb/s. It's only laptop size as far as I can tell.

Do you think this is a good replacement – will be using as my main boot HD for a gaming PC.

Also what are good options for getting to to fit a 3.5" sled?

It's a fantastic upgrade. Go with it. :)

You don't really need to. I've had a few SSDs hanging from SATA cables in builds, and they've been fine. You can tape/velcro it to a sled if you want to though. Some come with screw holes for 2.5 inch drives already.
