Poor weather, terrible pitch, no internationals. Still though I wish it were on the box!

    Patchell V Madigan

    Stronger Backrow for Leinster

Madigan hopefully to play the conditions and that the new scrum combo clicks.

    Leinster win 1-5

Is there any rugby on the box (in the UK) tonight at all?

Look at you and your 'grids'..

It was far from grids we were brought up on.

Will we have to rely on Twitter for this or is it going to be on radio anywhere?

Excuse me, they are fancy schmancy tables I'll have you know. And they are so what the young kids are doing these days. Totes amazeballs and all that.

It has nothing to do with the fact that I'm a nerd that works with Excel all day. Nothing at all.

I love these 6N rabo games. Feckin disgusted it's not being shown though, so many players I'd love to watch out for.

Hudson, McGrath, and Macken are ones I'm hoping for a big game from. Madigan to score a trademark 5 metre run in. Jordi Murphy start knocking on the door marked 'regular'. but then there's Dippy, wanting to remind us of his promising for before injury......

I WISH I WAS IN IRELAND TO WATCH THIS.

Has anybody tried the 'live ' update button on the rabodirectPro12 web site this evening? I know the match hasn't started yet, but it is not working for me for the Ulster match either, and that started a few minutes ago. :(

Didn't know there was a separate match thread. Posted in the Leinster Thread

Is EOM on the bench for Leinster instead of Fionn?

Fionn did the draw for the Junior Cup earlier when I would have expected him to be at least on his way to Cardiff.

This picture from the Leinster Rugby Twitter looks like its EOM at 23 (obviously cuts off most of the one name we need).

Looking good for Leinster, a win here would be great considering the number of absentees.

    3-23 at HT!
This is going really well, very surprised actually!

    Hope we can keep going.

3-23. Very nice first half. Sounds like we are dominating in the scrum and getting both tries as a result.

Feckin delighted with that. Great win.

Schmidt praising Jack O'Connell in the pre game. Interesting I thought VDM was on the bench!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,636 ✭✭✭✭Tox56

Madigan kicked very well. It was a telling point, helping us to build scoreboard pressure. Good bit of game management from Ian

Hopefully a sign of things to come :D

No idea how he played obviously but 100% kicking from the tee is an encouraging stat.

For me its not about his place kicking, his stats are constantly around 90% and he is one of the most accurate you will find despite what some will have you believe, its about his kicking out of hand and decision making regarding when to kick and when to pass/run. If Joe has come out praising the one flawed aspect of his game its f***ing great news.

Great result. Frustrating that we can't talk about more individual performances.

No vdm in this match, Jack O'Connell on the bench.

The more of mcgrath(23), joc(22), moore(21) and furlong(20) we see the happier I am.
    4 very promising young players.
Leinster coach Joe Schmidt was understandably delighted with the victory.

"I am delighted with the win, we had 15 guys in camp with ireland. We had to draw on some of the young guys in some sticky conditions under foot."

"Jack McGrath did well and so did Jack O Connell when he came on. Michael Bent was very strong in scrum. Dominic Ryan hasn't had a massive amount of rugby but played very well."

Speaking about Ian Madigan's 100% record with the boot, Schmidt added, "Madigan kicked very well, Ian was 100% which allows you to build score board pressure. It was good game management from Ian tonight."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

Glad to hear Bent did well. No doubt his confidence would've taken a bit of a battering the way he was handled in the Irish camp. Thightheads live on a diet of confidence.

Was he handled poorly? I mean, he can hardly complain about being dropped
