Sorry if this is in the wrong place - can't find anywhere more obvious to put it. Found an iPhone in the Kitchen nightclub last weekend. Says 'invalid SIM' so no-one has tried to call it and it's locked so I can't access any of the numbers to call whoever owns it. There is a photograph of a person as the screen saver so it should be fairly easy to identify the owner. Anyone know anyone who might own it? I'm probably just going to hand it into the garda station as I can't even figure out which network it's on. Thanks.

hmmph! Androids are better anyway. If it'd been an Android it would have found it's owner all by itself, then given him/her oral sex and a bacon butty.

Surprising amount of attention this thread isn't getting.

Best thing to do is take a picture of the phone with the persons face and post it on they nightclubs Facebook page. Someone might tag the owner.

By the way, 'invalid SIM' would lead me to believe it's been blocked already.

Have a look at the Sim call the network, they can match the IMEI of the phone or else by using the serial number of the SIM

You could eject the sim and find the network that way. Might get the owners number that way too and be able to trace it or at least there will be an identification number the network can trace.

Why not just give it back in at the Kitchen or the Clarence hotel?

That's one of the first places the person will ring surely?

I wouldn't do that. I would tell them you found it though and leave your number.

Take a screen shot of the face, upload it to AH, someone might recognise the owner?

Try different network sims (if you have any) to access the contacts.

Take out the sim card, this will tell you what network it is. Ring them up, and ask them to contact the owner. They will ask for the sim card number. Leave your number with them, and they will contact the owner with your details.

If you need any help taking out the sim, just let me know and I will tell you how to do it :)

I'm guessing it's their other half.

Fair play to you, sound of you to go to this sort of trouble.

Contacting the club itself might be the best idea, ask them if anyone lost a phone. If someone has then ask them to describe the screen photo.
