Right car door speaker only works if door shut firmly

    Hi,

    My right car door speaker will only work if driver's door is shut firmly, then once it starts working again it will be fine until the next morning and it will have stopped working again, until I open and close door firmly again.

    Any ideas what is causing this problem?

    Prob pinched or damaged wire in the loom. Pull back the rubber cover at the door hinge point and check for damage

    Take a look on the hinge side of the door - some cars have spring loaded electrical contacts that only make contact when the door is closed.

    If your car has these, give them a good clean and check that they are making good contact.

    If not, then you will probably have to trace the wiring to the speaker and see if there is a break or bad connection somewhere.
