I believe there is breaking news coming out of Australia regarding Durgs in Sport.

I dont have much info. only that is across a range if sports and at a high level.

Im sure more will come out over the course if the day and days to follow.

Thus will do nothing for there reputation of a clean country.

The track and field athletes should escape most of the glare. Only Pearson and Mitch Watt were medal winners in London in legitimate events and Watt did not even jump very far. Pearson is running times quick enough to generate suspicion in this climate but she has a lifetime of steady improvement behind her along with a easy to trace training and racing program. The sport is also not organised well enough here to take illicit advantage of the type of organised drug use that these reports point to.

Anyone who follows the NRL will not be surprised by the whole thing. The increasing size of the players coupled with consistantly erratic behavior paints a picture of steroid use.

I would have said that recreational drug use was (and may still be) the biggest worry for the AFL but again, the allegations do not surprise me.

There are hints that the A-League soccer could be one of the main targets of the type of betting scandal that was revealed last week in soccer. There is an enormous amount of money turned over betting on the A-League in Asia.

In my opinion, the Aussies should not be shocked. Why would their professional sports be any less prone to cheating than anywhere else? There is big money at stake and there had been very little in the way of deterrents so of course people cheated. If you took away the intense testing program in Ireland, we would have way more cheaters. If the GAA turned professional, watch the players start to get bigger very quickly.

NBA, NFL and MLB (NHL too if anyone gave a sh*t about it) are three of the dirtiest sports in the world when it comes to PEDs. NBA especially wants to ignore the issue rather than confront it.

Would not surprise me if Rugby Union was involved here also.

Anyone that believes that AFL, NRL and Rugby Union are not riddled with PEDs is just wilfully ignorant.

And soccer. Funny how Fuentes is not allowed to name the footballers involved in Operation Puerto. That's what happens when you have a governing body that doesn't give 2 f**ks about the sport's obvious doping problem, and a national government who protects one sport but not another (cycling).

Forget Australia, Spain is where the worst of the problems lie. Doping wasn't even criminalised until a few years ago and as a result Fuentes is only being trialed for public health offences. A joke!!

Tyler Hamilton put it perfectly when he said a Spanish cyclist could walk around with a syringe stuck to his forehead and still nothing would happen. Well cyclists only made up 30% of Fuentes' clients. Hmmmmmm........
