Although it takes 2/3 attempts to start, like the spark won't ignite, it is still working, but I'm afraid it will stop altogether. Any help???

5/6 year old, serviced every year. No doesn't need restarting. At last service (oct) engineer blinded me with words, but he couldn't fix it. He might have mentioned a circuit board???
    Baxi Solo

Service should be at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours. How much did he charge you

Sounds like it may be the fan if the boiler goes part of the way through its start-up check. Happened on mine, fan needed some lubrication. My understanding is if PCB is gone then boiler will not even try to start.

Qualified gas engineers should only work on boilers.

It wouldn't get to ignition stage if it were the fan!
Gas valve, air or ignition issue.

That what you call taking money on false pretences:mad: criminal:mad:

I would say Shane is on the money and should be easily identifiable by any good RGI.

Pilot jet semi-blocked...... a PROPER service would avoid the problem! :)

Have had it serviced 3 or 4 times now, each time no more than 30 mins.
Each service carried out by Registered Installer, and paid for on my gas bill. Deliberately go through Bord Gais to avoid the cowboys

Oh yeah, forgot about that one. What was it.... last I heard they get a €100 bonus if they condemn a boiler & the client uses them for the replacement!
