Leaving aside the cost what in your opinion is the best Tacx Trainer to buy, why and where?

    Regards,

    Ray.

I got the blue motion in wheelworx recently. Only used it once, and I never had a turbo before, but I find it fine.

Easy to set up and provides enough resistence for me at the moment.

Doesnt have a front wheel raising block but thats not a big deal.

I've the tacx i-flow vr with steerer, and use it a lot over the winter. Usually about 4 sessions a week on average. It takes a bit of setting up, and the steerer is nothing like regular bike steering, but is a great bit of kit. Training is good fun. particularly when you're virtual opponents are based on your previous best times on the same circuit. Bike-discount.de and bike24 were the cheapest when I was buying by a huge margin, haven't checked recently.

That's one seriously expensive piece of kit... Sounds great though. Given the weather over the past few weeks, I'd almost be tempted, despite having neither the money nor the space for it. :D

It was much cheaper a couple of years ago, with the older software version. Maybe you could find someone who's got one they're not using anymore and make them an offer? Personally, I wouldn't be without mine, and get great use out of it, so it's been good value. I've an old PC that I've dedicated to it in a room that's not much used, so set-up time is not an issue. If you're stuck for space, or have to go searching for a laptop and cables each time you want to use it, it could be more hassle than its worth. The new v4 software also requires a reasonably good modern PC, so check the specs before buying.
