    Hi,

I am trying to cut corners to reduce my spending per week.

Any tips on how to save on Petrol... it's a killer !!

I drive a yaris and I drive 7 days a week although if I dont have to drive I won't.

My commute to work is 60 km roundtrip daily and public transport is just not feasible for me as I really do live out in the sticks and would have to pay to park at a train station anyway.

I could move... but not an option at present. Any ideas at all ??
it's costing the guts of €70 per week

Im not sure if the mathematics forum is where you want to be.

Drive less. Im not being smart. You said you drive 7 days a week. Presumably you dont work 7 days a week. On the way home on friday go and do a big shop and get in supplies for the weekend. The Saturday and Sunday, don't go out. If you dont go out you cant spend money. Youd be surprised how much you can save by simply not going out.

Do you eat lunch in work or do you bring it with you? Thats another added expense.

Can you car pool? Lighten your car (no unneeded stuff in the boot etc), drive at a constant speed, no sharp accelerating or braking. A 300km a week commute might warrant changing to a diesel car (but I can't imagine a Yaris being that thirsty, to be honest).

You might want to post in the Motors forum as the folks there would have many more ideas :)
