New break pads causing heat

I got new driver side rear break pads first week of January. Then 3 weeks later needed to replace the front left calliper. Now on the rear driver side there is a lot of heat coming from where the break pad is. Any ideas what this could be.
Car is an 07 accent. Bought start of December 2012, private. Serviced a week later. Serviced by the same garage that done all of the above

The heat build up is more than likely the brake shoes rubbing constantly off the drum. Are you sure your handbrake is off? If it is your best bet is to take it back to who did to look at it.

Yep hand break is completely off. On one occasion the drum part was red with the heat when I got out. I'll have to go back. Car is costing me much more than expected

First off I presume that both left and right rear brake pads were changed? If not they should have been, to ensure they are balanced.

If there is heat coming from the brake pads and disk to the point that you can notice it, it would seem as though the caliper is sticking on this wheel. You will probably need to get this changed too.

Drum part? Is it not rear discs?

No only one break pad replaced. same side thats causing trouble now.
ya so its the disc that was red hot one day last week. hasnt been red since but if i do put my hand near it after using the car i can feel the heat

Has it drums or disks on the back? Is it a 3dr sport model?

brakes do heat up after driving, but when it goes red from heat, it is no good at all, .. depend how you drive and brake though.

brake pads has to be changed in pairs on axel, it is absolutely silly idea change brake pads on one side only.

maybe brake cylinder in caliper getting seized, need to do some reconditioning. ... .. guess... advice is do reconditioning both sides, not a one only.

My advice is to get a new mechanic! This is a simple enough fix for anyone that knows or cares what they are about.

The caliper piston is obviously sticking thats why the pad needed to be replaced , so you are driving around wearing the same pad again its the same as if you have your foot on the brake pedal ( note spelling BRAKE ) id say you need a new caliper unfortunately as once they start to seize they might free up for a while but ,will stick again and just keep the pad pressed against the disc

change both rear shoes on both wheels would be my advice. stupid to just change one

The op doesn't mention weather it has drums or disks in the back(though it probably has disks considering the age of the car) which is why I asked the question. I know for a fact the 3dr sport has disks in the rear but im not sure has the standard saloon version got them.

Tbh your just making an assumption that the piston in the calliper is sticking. It could be any other number of things like a brake pad sticking in it's carrier etc.

Edit: just read that it's has disks.
