Suspected leak

    Hi,
I think I have a leak but I cannot find any water being where it shouldn't. The reason I suspect a leak is that the ball cock in the attic is not completely shutting off, instead there's a strong dripping, enough to fill a pint glass in a minute or so. When I turn off the valve at the attic tank the ballcock behaves as it should. So I am trying to detect where this demand for water is coming from even though no taps are switched on or no toilet cisterns are acting up. The downstairs shower and the kitchen sink are on opposite sides of the same wall and all the Ts and elbows that might be the problem are inaccessible. But the flows for each of these taps are good so I am reluctant to get destructive just yet to find out for sure. The copper cylinder seems fine unless it is leaking into the ground and I cannot see it. Any ideas? thanks.

First turn off the cold valve in the hotpress and wait a few minutes. If the ballcock stops then the leak is on the cold. If not turn cold valve back on and do the same with the hot just to be sure. That'll give u a starting point anyway
