so mini laptops etc. like mini keyboard and screens for carrying around on trains and in the car etc.

looking to pick one up myself,

wondering because the gf has one and its a great thing to carry around with mobile internet etc too.

except hers is very slow on windows 7 starter, everything is slow to open and run etc.

so i want one for myself anyway but looking to get one cheap that wont freeze and be slow and can get windows 98 or XP and a decent battery length would be good too.

    any recommendations ?

Windows 7 is somewhat of a challenge for an Atom CPU with only 1 GB RAM all right. Most manufacturers do offer Windows XP drivers (forget about Windows 98) for their netbooks so all is not lost.

By definition, they do not have optical drives, so you'll need an external DVD drive or make a bootable USB stick/SD Card from your Windows XP CD (e.g. with Rufus from Donegal ;) ).
