Marvel plans Hulk film after Avengers 2?

The Hulk may be getting his own stand-alone film following 'Avengers 2', according to reports.

Marvel authority Latino Review has gone as far as to say that there will be a scene either in the film's final act or post-credits that will set the new Hulk film up.

It's now thought that the Hulk's new on-screen story could take its plot from the 'Planet Hulk' and 'World War Hulk' comics.

In 'Planet Hulk', the Hulk is banished from the Earth after Marvel's Illuminati - a secret group of representatives from groups including the Avengers, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four, which includes Iron Man - decide that he is a threat to the Earth.

He is then exiled into space, where he is enslaved by an alien race, but rises up against them.

In a later spin-off comic series called 'World War Hulk', he then returns to Earth for revenge.

Supporting the likelihood of a new series of films is the fact that Mark Ruffalo, who played Bruce Banner and his green alter-ego in 'Avengers Assemble', is signed on to make six movies with Marvel Studios.

There is a little time to wait until we find out, however – 'Avengers 2' will not land until 2015.

Ruffalo took over the role from Ed Norton, who played the Hulk in 'The Incredible Hulk' in 2008, and Eric Bana, who went green in 2003's 'Hulk'.

Im not sure how reliable yahoo films are but just thinking about World War Hulk, gives me a raging clue tbh

I've said before that I hope this might be the direction they take. Makes sense to me, Avengers 3 could be pretty much WW Hulk.

Planet Hulk is by far the best chance they have of making a truly great stand alone Hulk movie too imo even if it is basically John Carter of Mars.

I rather they fought Ultron or the Masters of Evil after Thanos in the next one which is looking likely :/

Also with Reed Richards and Prof X in the Illuminati currently at other studios, What way are they gonna work around that :(

I've never liked Ultron, would rather it was almost anything else.

Not that much of an issue, some flash backs and the video message to Bruce which I think was Tony anyway.

As long as beta ray bill is not in it I'm happy, they can't use the silver surfer so I'd rather they'd change the scene rather than replacing the character.

They can just have the other Avengers decide Hulk's fate rather than the Illuminati imo.

Yahoo's credibility i can't verify for things like this, BUT Latino Review were the guys who got the scoop on Thanos in the after credits

Lads would ye want a World War Hulk based on just using the Avengers or stay close to the novel?

Personally I would love to see that Sentry fight but can understand if its only the Avengers. Its probably asking to much to see it follow the novel

Using the Avengers and utilising any others that have been established up to then, Falcon, Strange etc

As good as the Planet Hulk storyline is I don't think it would work in the context of the Marvel films. In the films Banner has gotten more & more control over his Hulk persona but in the comics he's had decades of rampage to justify the other characters exiling him into outer space.

He's had varying levels of control over the course of the comics so I don't see why he can't in the films too. Besides The Avengers showed they don't have a problem changing how much control he has if it suits the plot.

I think its still a bit early for a story like this to work , What about the hulk fights with Ghostrider and Sentry in WWH and Surfer in PH it would be a shame if they found a way to take those out or replace them with someone, (At the moment noone in the MCU could probaly match hulk other than Thor and we've seen that)

I think this would be great set after the 3rd Avengers movie when you've tonnes of characters firmly embedded in the franchise, What about the ending of the last Hulk movie is the Leader forgotten about now ??

Don't know how reliable the source is but apparently Planet Hulk won't be made into a film anytime soon for the simple fact that Bruce Banner isn't really in the story.

Joss Whedon has flat out said it wont be happening anytime soon if at all
