I caught a glimpse of a German news report about an Alitalia flight that crashed at Rome recently. It was apparently a leased Romanian aircraft which was suspiciously resprayed plain white in a hurry. Anyone else hear anything about that?

After a crash aint planes normally given a quick once over, removing logo's/colour schemes etc. Not very good PR for the airline to have there logo's and stuff on the side of a crashed jet

Presumably this event, which seems not entirely dissimilar to the Aer Arann ATR-72 accident at Shannon in July 2011:

I'm glad to see that the report includes the mandatory eyewitness account of "panic and screaming" on board.

Slightly off topic, but in Paris last week, the Irish Army had a Helicopter for sale for 40k near the Eiffel Tower, for sale sign and all. Anyone here of this

I remember watching the live feed of the BA B777 crash at LHR a while back.....after and hour or two an A320 was towed out onto the ramp to block the SkyNews camera view of the stricken aircraft. Didn't stop the images but at least prevented them showing the image as "live from Heathrow"
