Hi there. Daughter getting married October this year and we need help with band. Was at wedding on Saturday and they had the amazing apples. Unbelievably brilliant and they had floor full right from the first song and stayed that way all night. Band not doing weddings anymore as going off touring. Daughter begged them but no good. This is the style of band she wants. Along with the classic irish style stuff the catered for everyone. waltz jive pop rock and classic Waterboys/ saw doctors type. This was the set up instrument wise and this is what we all want
    Members:
Darragh - Bass, Keyboards, Bouzouki, Mandolin, Vocals /
Cian - Rhythm Guitar, Vocals /
Anthony - Lead Guitar, Bass /
Brian - Drums, Guitar, Keyboards /
    Eanna - Fiddle, Mandolin, Vocals
I was recommended pyramid from Galway and I like them on YouTube but ultimately not my decision and daughter was recommended mad hatters but I don't think they sound great on YouTube although daughter has been told they are. Hope I've made it clear the type of band she wants so any help at all would be much appreciated please :)

Shame about Pyramid, Cath as they are one of the best around the west of Ireland, but I totally understand it is your daughter's big day.:)

Kif are excellent as well along with Fraggle Rock and Weightless Astronauts.

Thanks a mill. I'm getting burnt out from YouTube. Any other feedback on sumbrellas or pure blarney. Has anyone out there had pyramid for a wedding. Would really like a band like the amazing apples with fiddle and mandolin included in instruments to cover the irish stuff

We had Pyramid for ours and I have seen them at about 10 weddings in the last few years. They always have the crowd up on the floor for the night.:) Also, the lead singer is Vince in Ros Na Run!!

Thanks a mill shyboy. Great to hear from someone who had them at their wedding. Did they do any irish rock and folk type stuff along with the normal wedding type set. We want waltz, jive, current and pop with the typical waterboys/saw doctors type stuff to get crowd going too. Would be great to get a set in there too but can't see that with them. We're they able to do all ye wanted for ye'res.

    Hi cathb,

They played virtually everything you mention there. We had family from 17 - 70 at our wedding and everyone was up on the floor. They may even be able to play a set for you, they did the Siege of Ennis for us as my family would be into that.:)

That sounds great, ill get on to daughter and let her know what you said. Thanks a million for feedback. Just one more thing. How did they do siege of ennis? Did they have trad instruments with them?

Hi there. Me again! Would anyone recommend a good trad group for church with singer where they might do some trad stuff in the bar before meal? Clare area.

Hmm, that's a very good question Cathb. They definitely played it live so they must have had the instruments with them.
