Basically Got a bulge on front left there afew days ago and been looking around for a part worn for under 80 quid or so as NCT is on Friday and as im changing back to 225/40/R18 after that i don't want to spend 200 quid on something i won't be using long but had no joy. If anyone knows of a place in the west that carries alot of Part worns give me a bell.

    Thanks alot :)

Was chatting to this guy on the phone for a while. Didn't have the tyres I needed for the van but filled me in on the whole part worn scene. Seemed a genuine dude. Based up in claregalway.

You could try the mechanic behind the pub at carnmore cross. I got one off him before.

There's a guy called Francis who has a garage out off the Headford Road, think it's the turn on the left after Cloonboo petrol station heading out of town. I found him through an old thread on boards last year, search 'tyres galway Francis' and you should get it. He was excellent and v reasonable, does after hours business too if you are working during the day.

What tyres will you be using after the NCT?

What about getting 4 steel rims and getting 4 winter tyres on them.
You'll be spending €200 but you will always have the set of winter tyres should the weather get bad. No use if you don't think you'll be keeping the car for a few years.

4 of these on standard ST alloys

The current size are a disaster on roads i travel on and 2 of the wheels are buckled anyway so it's a no brainer

These seemed like a good price for nearly new:

Got sorted today by Craughwell Tyres, excellent service and very professional and would highly recommend them to anyone in the area.

They even put me onto a company in the city that does alloy refurb and powdercoating in one place, thanks alot lads.
