    Hi All,

As the titles suggest, I'v a wood-chip problem.

I've bought a old house, which has three rooms that consist of wood-chip walls and stipple ceilings - Yugh!

Any body who sees the wood-chip keeps saying "Good luck with getting that off"
it seems like there are multiple coats of paint over the woodship also.

So I'm looking for tips, advice, and suggestions:

Do I: peel it off, plaster over it...knock down the house and start again?

    All advice appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

My own advice would be to try take some off and see what the lie of the land is underneath. If it is good then you may be able to carefully take it off, clean it up and a few coats of paint will do it. But this is very optimistic.

In our house when we looked underneath we saw thath the old plaster was in poor shape, this could have been why they woodchip papered it in the first place.
In the end we just hired a steamer, removed the lot and had the walls re-skimmed. Pain in the arse of a job though.
