I think Clivej made up something like this for his car. I can't find the post or pics though.
He might be on later and give you a few details.

you will get 2 good size tray's from one of these. Look for the smaller ones.
i still use the Homebase tray and find it OK for €9

This will fit in the boot of my Avensis hatchback car with room to spare down the sides.
Have to let the back seats down to fit.

Not being funny, but I think someone on this forum said they use body bags! Once you get over the morbid idea if it, it's actually quite a good idea. Not sure where you can get them from though, but I might be mad, I think they mentioned an army surplus store!

The Homebase tray in use. Not for dragging the deer but to keep in the boot to keep things tidy.
A good sized Fallow about 5/6 years old fits in well. Again in the Avensis hatchback boot. And now in a VW Caddy.

Looks like a giant baking tray and the deer is about to go into a huge oven

And I'll do you one better now than a 30 euro plus body bag.;)

Any 1 ton or 1.25 ton"big bag" freely available from many now silent building sites.:D
Or buy one for five quid from a buliders supply.
Much easier to clean, very tough, moreso than a body bag, much stronger grips on the corners, can fit anything in it from a Red to a goat.Easier to clean, not as morbid for those of a gentle disposition, and also makes a very handy shelter tarp for wet weather.

Saw these in ikea. There's big 77x70x20cm. €10.
I'd avoid emergency pounhes( body bags). They'll tear if your washing and reusing them, plus if your trying to cool a carcass zipping the bag shut is counter productive

That Fallow buck looks like he's looking forward to going to the steak house. Nice tray. IBC is hard bet for 9euro as clivej mentioned. Does the job nicely

Just to update the HomeBase tray.

It broke in the cold weather and I won't be getting one again.

I'm now on the lookout for a 50gal Blue plastic oil type drum. The type that has only an outlet hole on top for emptying the contents, and a small hole to let in air, not type that the top comes off.

I'll cut it in half length-ways and put a bit of timber, cut to suite the half-round barrel, that will stop it rolling about, and that will do me.

They are made of the type of plastic that won't crack up in the cold.

Clive you could prob cut a section out of one of the halfs so it acts as a cradle for the other

Ikeas has a slightly smaller one then the white one in black for €8 in the bedroom section for under bed storage.
White one was on the ground floor on the main aisle for €10. Much better value then homebase. Plus the white one is flexible so i doubt it'd crack.
