I currently have Sky Multiroom but am considering cutting back considerably on it.

Is it possible to have just the one box and receive only the Free to Air channels but still record them?

Do Sky offer a subscription to have just the Record function but none of the other channels?

    1) No.

    2) No (at least, I'm nearly sure it's a no! Their Freesat from Sky non-sub doesn't include Sky+ features).

Have a look at "Sky eye" It's similar to multiroom without the ongoing cost. You can record and playback from the main box, however you MUST watch the same channel as the main box. Ideal for a 1 or 2 person house, but not a large family.

A freesat box will allow recording of the free UK channels, with no monthly charge. If you combine with Sky eye, you have more options in more rooms.
