    Hi,

I am going to start commuting daily from near UCD to the IFSC but I am unsure which route to take. I'm not the most confident cyclist so would rather a route with the minimum amount of lane changes / roundabouts / large junctions etc.

Would the following be the easiest?

    Thanks

If you're that close to the N11, you might find it easier to use that and then switch to the canal cycle path at Leeson Bridge.

I've found the handiest route into town to be the following:
N11 as far as Donnybrook church. It's bike lane (although not a great bike lane) as far as Donnybrook church.
Take the right down Angelsea road. Taking the right turn can be awkward. When it's busy, I join the traffic from Beaver row and when the lights go green for that road, I cycle across.
Angelsea generally moves at the same speed as the bike, so very few cars will attempt to pass. At the end of Angelsea, I take the left towards town and depending on the lights, I either go right down Shelbourne rd, or straight on past Jury's and then take a right after the canal.
Either way, you'll end up at the Treasury building. There's something about this building, no matter the weather it's always windy when you go past.
Next up, another right hand turn onto Macken st., which leads you down past the Gas Theatre to Sam Beckett bridge. Across Sammy B, and you're in the IFSC.

There are a couple of right hand turns in this route, but all of them can be done with the aid of traffic lights if needed. Also, lots of other cyclists going this route, so motorists know to expect cyclists and for the most part are good at giving cyclists space.
