I have only gotten into playing darts recently at friends houses and im looking to get my own dart board. Is there any difference between say a winmau board or unicorn. What board would ye recommend? Also would argos be the best place to get it?

Stick 2 a main brand board and you'll be fine , unicorn eclipse pro , Winmau blade 3/4 or target pro tour and the main difference between the eclipse and blade is that trebles / doubles are a little bigger on the eclipse than the blades and with regards 2 buying a board off Argos I always find that the eclipse boards from Argos wear out fairly quickly depending on usage .

The Unicorn Eclipse Pro is on sale in Elverys for 26.80 at the moment .

Contact Mr Darts ( Tony Hickey ) for the best price on the Target Pro Tour, €25 per board ,the best board by far for wear and it lasts a lot longer than other brands, his no is 0872752406

I've had a blade 4 and the one I currently use is a Unicorn eclipse pro.
Not much in it but maybe the Unicorn wears a bit better.
Some people have mentioned that boards bought in Argos for some reason are not the best.

Have to say my pro eclipse is knackered and its only over a year old.
My next purchase will be a Nodor Board.

I used to use them years ago. Total waste of money, lumps and bumps all over the board after a few months and also the wire around the treble twenty actually broke.
The Winmau blade 3 is good value. Picked up the blade 4 for €25 in Argos a few weeks ago too cheap not to buy ;)

Mine was from argos' and i have to say it has not been good value. I have turned the Board and every treble 20 is knackered aswell as the bull' darts falling out all over the shop and "No its not the darts".

I might opt for the Blade 3 as i have had some good Winmau boards down through the years. The nodor Supamatch 2 is taking my fancy. Most of the Pubs I went to locally over the years all had Nodor boards and they took a fair bit of playing. Whatever i choose it will not be the eclipse pro..!!

That's because Argos buy them in bulk and store them in containers for months on end.. the eclipse pro is as good as you can get but only from a reputable dealer.. the PDC boys wouldn't be using it if it was Crap..get in touch with Tony and he'll get you sorted
