If you're talking about it, and she wants feedback, then tell her.

The only time I've ever seen anyone's signature on things (never a logo, always a signature) is at exhibitions. I only know of one photographer that would do it a lot (though usually only hanging photos in her own house and when friends get them off her (for free i think)) and she considers herself more of an 'artist' than a photographer.

You spent over €1,000 on photographs with this photographer; surely you seen some samples of what it was you were buying? Did they feature logos or such?

Personally I slap a sticker with my contact info on frames, but I always put it on the back of the frame (so it's there if they need me for anything, but it'll never really be seen if they don't). Wouldn't be a fan of having branding on my walls, either, to be honest.

My work wouldn't be at the higher end where expensive frames are used, and at that i still wouldn't put my logo on the front, i've a sticker for the back, as if i put it on the front people would take it off. For that money you should have no branding on them.

Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't sure if I was over reacting as such and if this was standard in the industry (my wedding photographer didn't put her logo/signature anywhere though). I'm pretty sure she does consider herself and artist and in fairness she is the most talented photographer I've seen in this area BUT they are photo's of people so I think it looks odd, maybe on a landscape etc it would be fine.

Also when I say a brand- it is one letter (first letter of the company name) written nicely in silver pen. If it was one large frame then fine but it is 6 frames that forms part of a display so I think it looks too much and not as subtle.

Re samples- we had planned on going for the basic package when we were with her (no frames) but when we got the proofs we decided to blow the budget. We travelled a good bit to her so didn't go back to see her. We are 99% sure the samples in her house did not have a logo, I'm sure I would have noticed. I also went into detail with her- confirming the width of frames, dept. I also asked for the matt size to be reduced and this was never mentioned.

She did go out of her way for us- we got much more for our money than her usual packages- I had planned on using a framer myself but she said she wanted to do it to make sure it looked perfect. And it does, better than I imagined, but minus the logo/letter! I had planned on getting 2 more frames for my parents through her but the logo thing is putting me off.

I'm sure if I ask for the matts to be redone it wouldn't be a huge expense for her?

    Thanks for the feedback.

Well if she's charging you over €1,000 and she's shooting you in her house (which is what it sounds like above) then I'd say her profit margin would certainly allow for your mounts/matts to be replaced, alright (unless your prints are huge, I don't think her costs would be coming in too close at €1,000, though I've obviously no idea what kind of stuff she uses).

Definitely say it to her. She's not going to call around to your house and break all your frames out of anger. The worst that can happen is she'll say she can't replace them.
