Click Clack noise.

Just today I got two brand new tyres put on a set of wheels at a garage, which I then put on the car myself at home. I've put on and removed loads of wheels before, both car and motorbike. I didn't use a torque wrench to set the right tightness, just the old fashioned "nip it up good n tight" method. As I've always done. When I finished I took it for slow rolling drive and I could clearly hear a definite click-clack type noise, almost as if there was something catching on each rotation.
My long winded question is, have I nipped it up too tight or could that be a normal sound as the tyre settles onto the rim?

Jack up the car and give the wheels a spin by hand.

Listen and look, possible could be a stone stuck in the tyre thread.

    Fingers crossed.

As previous poster said check all 4 tyres for stones or nails. Also check that the weights used for balancing the wheels haven't come loose.

Are the wheels actually for that particular car?

Bit of an obvious one but are the stickers still on the tyres....

Possibly a stick on wheel weight hitting the brake caliper?

+1 for this. Had it happen on my last car - a SAAB 900i.
