Anyone replaced an Acer Aspire keyboard?

5755g specifically.

Some of my keys randomly decide to stop working, but if I give the laptop a bit of a shake it fixes it. I'm thinking the keyboard ribbon could be loose?

Do I really have to open up the entire laptop, from the base and everything just to get at the keyboard? My last laptop was a Dell and it took about 5 seconds to get to the keyboard.

That's nothing! I replaced a hard disk last week in a Dell. Everything had to come out, including the motherboard :eek:

Which Dell? Replacing mine soon and I managed to get nearly 10 years out of this one because I could replace everything and get at everything easily. Want to be able to do the same on the next one.

I have an Inspiron N5110 that's like that. The only way to check would be to shortlist a few models you like and have a look at their service manuals at the Dell support site.
