    Introducing

“The Enthusiasts Guide to … Ireland’s Classic and Vintage Car Scene”

I am producing a DVD documentary covering the classic and vintage car scene in Ireland that will be nationally and internationally distributed.

If you would like your club featured in the documentary, maybe you have a special event coming up, you or your members may have a restoration project in progress or maybe one that is near completion. I would like to cover as many aspects of the Irish clubs and their activities also individual enthusiasts including those who maybe of worked assembly plants here or in the motor trade pre 1985.

A brief summary of the project and an outline of the proposed contents.

Please contact me as soon as possible.

    Jack

    DVD Documentary

    Name:
    The Enthusiast’s Guide to…
Ireland’s Classic & Vintage Car Scene

    Producer
    Jack Epstein Productions

    The Product
Box set of 2 x DVD focusing on the Classic & Vintage car scene in Ireland.

    Chapter 1: The Clubs

    Chapter 2: Behind the Scenes

    Chapter 3: The Right Stuff

    Total length 180 min

    The Clubs
The main topic covered in the first chapter will be the Classic & vintage car clubs here in Ireland. Who are they? How were they started? How old are they? How many clubs are there? What is the attraction to the classic and vintage cars? Conduct interviews with clubs themselves, their members and founders. Show casing cars; test drives and owners interviews on their marque and models, also interviews with the likes of insurance companies, dealers, workshops and engineering works. Individuals who may of worked in the assembly plants. The social aspect of it.

    Behind the Scenes
Will be capturing specialists who work on classic and vintage cars, craftsman who manufacture bespoke products and enthusiasts who lobby local government on behalf of thousands of owners to ensure that these vehicles are respected for what they represent and are kept on the road. Topics include insurance and road tax and those who fight for it.
The underlying object of the product is to demonstrate that there are many specialists involved in classic and vintage cars and furthermore, that a large number of parts required for maintenance are actually remanufactured right here in Ireland. At present, most enthusiasts turn to the UK to source cars, parts and even repairs. To ensure the survival of these necessary ancillary home grown services will not only boost trade and employment here in Ireland but lessen the turnaround period of servicing, repairs and maintenance of the cars in the industry.

    The Right Stuff
Will start with short history on cars in Ireland and then move onto CKD kits that were assembled in Ireland. Classic & vintage car scene and ownership and what defines a classic. Is it just age? Buyers guide. Sellers guide. What to look out for when purchasing a classic or vintage car? How to value a car? Awareness of hidden costs after purchase. Finance available. Supporting the classic car scene here in Ireland. Many potential buyers first port of call when purchasing a classic or vintage car is the UK not realizing that there are so many cars available here.
The charities that the clubs and enthusiasts support.
