Need Help Finding a Cartoon!

Hi guys. I've been thinking of this odd little cartoon for over 25 years now on and off and I can't remember it. It was one of those French/Canadian-feel things (like Dogtanian & Muskahounds) - It was definitely shown on RTE, possibly Network 2, and possibly after the beatbox or whatever Dave Fanning/Barry Lang did on a Sunday. All I remember from it is that there was this little leprechaun man that lived or hid out in a barn/stable next to a big posh stone house and he'd help this young girl that lived there.

    That's all I've got.

Anyone have a clue? If it helps, I'm 30 this year and it was definitely shown when I was in Primary School. It pops into my head every so often and drives me BANANAS.

Hate when you have a show like that on teh tip of your tongue. Result of a bit of searching:

Hiya! Thanks a million but that wasn't it, it definitely had a french/canadian feel to it, probably with political undertones like a lot of cartoons in the 80's/90's!

The only thing I can suggest is "David the Gnome" but I don't think that's what you are looking for.

Have you tried the "I need to know" board on IMDB? Some seriously obscure and vague requests get thrown up there and it seems like there's always someone who knows the answer.

Hemactocyte- I think you could be correct from this wiki link:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_World_of_David_the_Gnome

    It mentions screenings on RTE

OP - if this is not the cartoon series, then try this link - it provides all the cartoon tv series on a by year basis - it's a valuable resource for all on this forum. :)
