Herself just bought a 2006 1.6 hyundai coupe. Any stuff I should watch out for over time or mods that make them better.

Upgrading the stereo might be worthwhile, the standard ones are a bit outdated.

Don't bother with performance mods anyway.

They drink oil, so look out for ones that have excessive tapping noises coming from the engine might be an insight to whether it was driven with low oil. Always look for accident damage and walk away from ones that need body panels because 2nd hand parts are like gold dust, my mate crashed one and it took me weeks to find a headlight for it as hyundai wanted €300 for a replacement.

Drives well, all panels are perfect. And ya stereo doesnt seem too great alright.

Ah I know there not the most powerful 1.6 but there fine

And it been serviced oil is still clean

Sounds ok then, they are a good little car my mate had one for two years and reluctantly bought a diesel golf 1 month ago due to daily commutes to dundalk. I cant even mention the coupe to her because she wells up every time I do she loved that car and it never let her down once even though she drove the s**t out of it. Great car for the missus IMO.

They don't drink petrol, they inhale it. A heavy car for a 1.6 to be carrying. Nice place to sit, seats are very comfy
