    :)Hi

I'm looking into off campus accommodation for next semester. I do realise it varies from Landlord to Landlord but I'm wondering does a deposit have to be paid and if so around how much and is this refundable at the end. Also is the rent weekly/monthly or by term/semester. And finally how is payment made direct debit or what??

    Neadie H :)

Can only speak generally but where I've stayed,
The price of the deposit has been a months (or 4 weeks) rent,
Depending on how you're paying in installments...

Also you should be entitled to the entire deposit back when you're leaving,
Provided the house is in the same state as when you got it...

As for when you pay them, and how you pay them,
This varies massively landlord to landlord...
If you contact them they will tell you straight off though..

Also as far as I know the vast majority of landlords accept rent cash in hand,
But would probably accept it via bank if they've the facilities...

Questions are based on many variables but this is the general consensus..
