This is a thread for you to post any upcoming events of interest

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Just curiously, is this thread for any kind of community event? Like social as well as political etc.?

Whatever the members feel like - I don't particularly mind if there are social events put up - It could potentially get very cluttered if every single event in the George and Panti were put up though - I'm easy - if there is a big demand to have one or other or both then we can go with that

Well I meant the once off kind of events- I'm thinking of some of the community events like the family fun days, and the pride pets day and stuff...

Yeah I agree with one off events. Like not posting about regular gay nights but say if there was a pub quiz on in the Front Lounge for example? Or a brand new night?

I've read about a Lisdoonvarna Outing in the press recently. Anyone have any more info? Sounds like a hoot.

Gloria, Dublin's DLGC Choir are having their annual concert in the National Concert Hall on Saturday, 15th June at 8.00 p.m.

    Special guest choirs include:

Belfast’s Quire, Cork’s Choral ConFusion and the most recent addition to Ireland’s gay singing family, Dublin Gay Mens Chorus. We will also be joined by a special bunch of people that will come together as part of Glória’s Outreach choir project. Panti as usual will be the host and will bring that added glamour and flair to the evening!

Watch us on Friday June 7th on Nationwide on RTE One at 7pm. Join us and reporter Valerie Waters as she explores snippets of our 18 year history, chats with some choir members about our past, present and future as well as listen to some performances from our upcoming summer concert.

Wonder why they don't make it the same weekend as Dublin Pride. Actually is there Pride days in other cities in Ireland (eg Galway etc.) and if so are they on the same day?

The prides are usually on different days that way people can travel round and go to a few off the top of my head pride is celebrated in cork, galway, kerry, belfast, waterford, sligo, dublin, and derry ( called foyle pride ) there may well be more. The dublin pride is usually in and around the anniversary of the stonewall riots

I listed all the pride dates above

The first date is the date of the parade or main event

They are all staggered from May to September which I think is a good idea

They spread them out so people can attend more than one. If they were all on the one day, each one would have less people attending. I'll hopefully be going to Dublin Pride and definitely Belfast Pride the following Saturday.

Belfast was left out, that's why I added it in a separate post :)
