New gaming headset

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but i'm looking for a new gaming headset, in other words it needs to have a mic and be comfortable to wear for long sessions (>3-4 hours at times, new AOE2 expansion :D ). I have a budget of about 70 euro for them.

I was looking at Corsairs Vengeance 1500 series:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CA-9011112-WW-Vengeance-Gaming-Headset/dp/B005QUQP7G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359555483&sr=8-1

Does anybody have any experience with these (comfort, sound quality, etc..)

As I said i'm open to suggestions for other headsets, the main factor is really comfort as i've worn headphones in internet cafes before that have been incredibly uncomfortable after about an hour or so and took away from the gaming experience.

I have the Vengeance 2000, and it's a very nice headset alright. It's got a bit more to it than the 1500 (I believe it handles low mid-tons better) but it's great value for the money by all accounts, especially when you turn off the surround and use the reference EQ.

I've been using Platrinics Gamercom 780

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Plantronics-Gamecom-Gaming-Headset-Surround/dp/B0079G2Y52/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359569121&sr=8-1

It does 7.1 surround and the mic is very good.

It's not as good as a 7.1 speaker setup but it's the next best thing.

The only quibble I'd have is the software defaults to 5.1 surround when you boot up first but you can quickly change it back manually

    Nice and comfy too.

Thought I'd bump this rather than start a new thread. I've just ordered a Vengeance 1500 after reading good things. I've read that it's nessesery to tweak the driver settings to get the best out of them. Anyone try this?

If they're anything like the Vengeance 2000, you'll want to update the EQ profile (Downloaded on Corsair website) and change the EQ to "Reference" for best results.

I got the vengance 1500 last week and im very impressed with them. Very comfortable (especially if you have big ears) and the sound quality is very good aswell. Very good in BF3

And yes I recommend downloading the software of corsair. Plenty of settings to play around with,I usually use 5.1 Dolby surround on different EQ settings for different games.

*To enable dolby 5.1 right click the speaker icon on Win7>Playback Devices>Corsair 1500 Vengance>Configure>5.1>Next next next

You have to do this every time but I think it sounds best in 5.1.
