Quick Question

    Hey lads,

Hope all is well. Quick question..was driving today and may possible have gone few km over the speed limit. There was a garda van parked hidden though I didn't see any gardai holding a speed gun now I dont know if they were checking for speed or what. Anyways the car has no nct (have it booked for 2 weeks time) so if on the unlikely chance I get done for speeding would I also be called up on my expired NCT too?

    Cheers lads!

If it was a tripod then you may have been caught but if it was the gun they would have pulled you straight away.

Was it a camera van or an actual guarda van?

Hey Ridley thanks for the reply! It was an actual gardai van.

i'd say you would have been pulled over there and then if you were caught. I'm open to correction though.

Cheers again Ridley! :) I think so too! I actually wouldn't mind about the speeding fine as in fairness if I'm over I'm over ( though this case was close) but I wonder if they give me the speeding ticket will they also do me for expired nct? As mentioned previously I have it pre booked for the 14th of Feb and if I was stopped by an actual Gardai I could show him the papers and booking forms, payment details etc but obviously cant show a speeding camera this. :)

Thanks again Ridley - apprdciate it!

Anyone else know if I could be done for expired NCT like this?

Just to update : Just chatting to the old man there and seems perhaps it could been an old school speed van that has the appearance of a gardai van. Anywho the question still the same? :)

Worse case speeding ticket if it was camera van
NCT required to stop and check.

So in theory you could have no NCT, road tax and insurance and just receive a speeding ticket in post.
