    BEIRUT, Lebanon — An activist group with opposition contacts in Syria said on Tuesday that the muddied bodies of scores of people, most of them men in their 20s and 30s, had been found in a suburb of the northern city of Aleppo. Video posted by opponents of President Bashar al-Assad seemed to show that many had been shot in the back of the head while their hands were bound.

    Hardly worth an AH thread over and above the civil war discussions elsewhere on the forum. By the time this conflict is done and investigated, I suggest stories of 100 person massacres will be routine.

    ...to be honest, every time you here about the numbers arrested, take a good guess whats happened to an awful lot of them.

    From BBC and RTE websites, those bombs were missiles from Israeli forces.

    Israel say they were just trying to stop weapons being transferred to Hezbollah in Lebanon, Syria say Israel are trying to help the opposition.

    Also there are reports of chemical weapons having been used, though difficult to verify. Chemical weapons were the "red line" that Obama spoke of before.

    A very nasty situation.

    It reads like Lebanon in the 70's in many ways - every faction with its own militia, rampant sectarianism and massacre v reprisal massacre. Grim stuff.
