problems finding marriage record?

Hi, I've really only started to seriously look into my family history in the last few days so I'm very, very new to it. I've managed to find my great grandmother in the 1901 and 1911 censuses

The story I was told and the census confirms in more detail is: Margaret Finn married Scully in the late 1800's, had 2 boys John and Patrick, was widowed by 1901. She married my great grandfather and had given birth to my grandfather Michael McMahon by 1911.
My great grandfather is a McMahon from Clare, I decided to stay away from that one til I got a few more details :/
I've spent the last few days trying to find a marriage record for Margaret and Mr. Scully with no luck what so ever, I've searched every possible year and area on the LDS site and tried a few parishes from the general area I assume they must have married, I haven't spent as much time looking for the McMahon marriage but I haven't found anything there either. What I'm really looking for is her mothers maiden name (I have an idea but want to confirm Lynch)
After all that, I'm wondering why it wouldn't be there and how hard it would be to get a copy of the certificate (if it exists) with just those details. Any help would be greatly appreciated, if anything a fresh pair of eyes would be lovely :)

I think I'd start the search with a birth for one of the Scully children to establish the father's first name...

Seeing as they have stayed in the same townland form 1901 to 1911, it seems likely the John and Patrick may have also been born there. There's a good possible match for John's birth in the correct timeframe and registration district :
    Name: John Scully
    Registration district: Gort
    Event type: Birth
Quarter and year: Jul - Sep 1893
    Volume : 4 / Page : 231

    Hi

I would look at both marriages together to see if you can figure it out! Things to remember is until you've proof of names via certs don't believe them, that is both first and surnames!!

    There's a birth record for a Martin McMahon for 1911 https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FBRP-TTL
    name: Martin McMahon
    registration district: Gort
    event type: BIRTHS
registration quarter and year: Apr - Jun 1911
    estimated birth year:
    age (at death):
    mother's maiden name:
    film number: 101074
    volume number: 4
    page number: 227

This could be worth getting because it will give you his parents names, address and his fathers occupation...

Along with that i'd get the birth record for John Scully too that Shanew posted above, these might both give you more information...

Margaret Finn/Scully may not have actually married Patrick McMahon either, or they may have done at a later date, but it would be worth seeing what his name is down as on the birth cert of his children
