Im currently in 1st year arts and i stupidly choose Maths as one of my subjects after only doing pass Maths for the LC. I'm usually very good at maths but I'm really struggling and I'm afraid that I've failed my Christmas exam and that i won't be able to pass the repeat or the summer exams which means ill fail the entire year :( just wondering does anyone know if anyone gives maths grinds/tutorials in the Galway area? Even a student in older years. Arts maths is the same course as honours science maths. Please let me know, id be forever grateful :)

Are you saying that Arts maths is the same as the undergrad science honours maths course?

Have you been to SUMS in the maths dept(Arus de Bruin)?

Don't worry about failing it, maths is a subject you (or anyone) can definitely pass if you put a bit of work in; and you have plenty of time to do so if you start now!

Yes SUMS are there specifically for students in your position, they'll help with whatever topics you are finding difficult. Go there tomorrow!

I think if you go along with some specific problems or questions that your are having problems with, they will help you out. As far as I know, there are a lot of Maths postgrads involved in SUMS, so there should be a friendly face there. Definitely worth a try, and they may even know some contacts for grinds if you feel you need them.

MA190, is it? Nice stuff in that. Go to SUMS and your tutorials as well as your lectures and you'll be grand.
