Left Right leg balance

    I typically use the early part of the year to do some one legged cycling practice on the turbo.

    Over past two weeks I have mixed fast cadence/low resistance and high resistance/low cadence sessions.

    I find the my left leg is considerable stronger than the right - typically 5 to 7 rpm in terms of cadence.

    Is there anything ghat can be done to strengthen the right leg, or is it due to the heavier right crank arm relative to the left crank?

    I think it is quite common that most people have a dominant leg/arm. Try balancing on one leg and move into a partial squat position (karate kid!) and see if you notice a difference in strength/balance.

    Never understood one legged turbo training, do you just hold the leg your're not using out or clip in and just not use it?

    It's to try and improve pedalling technique - forcing more even effort throughout the stroke (particularly the upstroke). It's better done with just the one leg clipped in as the tendency will be to use the other leg even if you try not to

    I'm a big fan of the one leg turbo training.
    Mine are pretty balanced because they are both as weak as over done spaghetti, but that's why I love descending....... My affair with gravity is a two way relationship.

    My right arm was weaker than my left until I purchased a Cindy Crawford training dvd.
    I now have a right arm like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
