How long is a piece of string?

In my area of work, I require Probate to pay certain benefits. One customer did it herself (Probate Office were extremely helpful) and had it within three months. Without knowing exact details, I would've described her case as simple and straightforward.

Another left it to a solicitor, who left it to a trainee, and it took two years.

No harm in ringing your solicitor after a three / four months for an update.

    Fair point :)

As I said small estate, I suppose Im feeling I would have had it done if I had taken care of it myself.
The solicitors office are useless at returning calls or sticking to calling at agreed times. Example, they say they will call on monday, but dont say which bloody monday. Could be weeks later that they ring. I hate the lack of common courtesy,

Really would just love to fire them at this point, but feel Im trapped with them.

Thanks for your response, much apprieciated

    Jake
