The owner of a plot,

    How would we find out the owner of a plot of land .It is becoming an eyesore and is becoming a dumping ground now.Where would we begin to find out ,also what cost might be involved.

    If you can identify it on a map, you could carry out a Land Registry mapping search.

    If it doesn't show up on a land registry search, you could send a map of the property to the relevant local authority to see who is listed as the rated occupier.

    If the above don't yield the details you want, you could try a valuation office search, but that may cost you iirc.

    If you still can't find the relevant details, go to a solicitor.
