I don't want to be the last one standing

Some of my siblings have emirgrated. They had to leave for work. I have two more siblings at home. They too also have to leave for work and are making plans but there's nothing concreate there yet but they will be going more than likely by summer or the end of this year at the latest.

That's it. They'll all be gone bar me. It leaves me at home.

I've been working for the past couple of years, doing something I love. Hours have been reduced but kept busy all the same. Had to move back home last year. I've got nothing else going for me here. It's just this job. There's nothing else for me. I could easily see myself in 10 years time, still in the same boat. Im 30. Young(ish). Free. No mortgage. No kids. No loans.

Do I try and make a break for it abroad and try and improve my prospects aboard or do I stay and keep my mother company. A mother who's seprated and single.

Get out of here before your siblings.

You already sound as if you don't want to be the last one left at home, obligated to hang around and "mind" your mother.

    .....dust trail!

While I understand the concern you have for your mother, she is an adult and able to look after herself, make her own friends etc.

Do what you fell is right for you, otherwise you may start to resent your mother for limiting your opportunities in years to come. Also you mother would want you to do what is best for you and not want to feel she held you back in any way.

Probably not the best forum if you're looking for a serious answer.

Try talking to your mother about it. And to your siblings. Explain the situation to them.
It's a tricky one and I know you want to look after your mother but that also means your life needs to be put on hold. Maybe you could go and start your new life but arrange between yourself and siblings to take turns coming back home at different stages throughout the year to keep your mother company.

    I would stay.

    You have a job.

Let your siblings setup a new life abroad. When they are all settled in and have spent a fortune doing so, you can go over.

you appear to be using your mam as an excuse to stay tbh. Go if you want to, I doubt your ma cares that much.

I love my Mammy though, I'd never leave her because I'm a better person than you
