Something similar happened during world war 2 in Russia. They began to eat human flesh as food was so scarce.

Is it believable that it could be happening in North Korea?

I heard that about the 21st world ward in russia too.

In Stalingrad, cannibalism was not uncommon, but they ate bodies of people who were already dead. There were so many corpses that they didn't need to kill people.

Unfortunately is probably true. Starvation does crazy things to people, 20 to 45 million starved under Mao, reports they used to eat the bark off the trees and boil down leather boots

This picture says it all, completely stunted growth due to growing up in the famine of the 90's. North Koreans are still starving, why don't you read up on it? There are plenty of books and accounts from defectors.

Haven't read the link yet but I will in a minute. In case I go on a major rant after though I wanna first say that I know this is after hours and I myself like to take the pee on here but a thread about people driven to eat their children is about as sad and terrible as it can get and I cant see how it could ever be a source of fun.

Why do you think its propaganda?

Its well known that there is mass starvation in north korea and would there probably would have been cival war long ago if not for the chinese coming to their to aid.

That may change in the future. China is still a very fragile country and any neighbouring conflict has potential to further bring instability.

Apparently this happened during the great famine in Mao's China. Children were frequently kidnapped and murdered for their meat. And yes, stories of people killing their own children and newborns. Can you imagine how bad thing would have to get for a person to be that desperate? I pray it never happens in my lifetime.

Read through that yesterday, it's horrific. It makes me feel kind of ashamed to be giving out about my crappy job, where I sit at a desk and computer, and can have as many toilet and smoke breaks as I like, and the only threats might be to get brought up to HR if you make too many mistakes. Awful lives they had in that place.
