honey fungus & gingko

Hello all, Lost 2 mature acacias in the frosts of 2010, cut them down but left 1 of the roots in the soil. It now seems to have honey fungus. A nearby gingko biloba had leaves with yellow edging all of last summer & growth was poor compared to previous years.
    Is the gingko infected ??
Any treatment tips for honey fungus ??

    Regards, Sean

very unlikely, Gingko is reported to be highly resistant to honey fungus. Are you sure that it is honey fungus, since you found it on dead not living trees? Check for black 'bootlaces' in the soil, even then not all species of Armillaria are parasitic. More likely that the Gingko didn't like the cold wet summer.

I will be digging out the decayed root tomorrow & will check for the 'bootlaces'. Thanks for the advice.
