As the title says I'm looking to convert my gas fire to a real one.

My Neighbour has hers done so I know it can be done however when the house was being constructed she informed the builder she wanted a real fire. Chimneys look the same. Chimneys are Lamartine If that makes a difference?

Is there a company that can come and take a look and see if its possible to do this?
Gas fire is very Inefficient an that's why we want to convert

    Based in Dublin.

    Thanks

    Oisin Stove

got a price from -snip- to install an €900 -snip- I heard -snip- were good but I'm curious about the quote given. Two quotes given one for stove on hearth €2,400 (including stove, cowl, and inset) and one for stove in fireplace €3,200; extra cost for fire bricks €550 and new hearth €600. It was explained to me why I needed a new hearth with the stove in the fireplace but I don't understnad the explanation so therefore can't pass it on.

I think this crowd are taking the mick but I do was a good job done. I thought I'd get out at €2,000 or even a bit less, when you consider the stove only costs €900.

    anyone.....
