Recently spotted The Go Slow Van parked in an unmarked area several times. Can they do this?
I thought they could only operate between the 'Camera' signs.

For a start they are Go Safe Vans, and secondly if they are Garda speed enforcement vans then they can park where local Garda management have decided for that day.

They Go Safe Vans are easily distingusied from the Garda van. You can check out where the Go Safe enforcement areas are on the Garda website. Not all areas are marked by signs.

Nothing really stopping them. The areas that are signed are i suppose only an indication and subject to change. Chief Super in Wexford has been giving out recently that they are all inappropriate places etc

Sure if your speeding inside or outside the camera sign doesnt really make much difference!

Also not all the areas have had physical signs erected!

For a start they are not Go Safe

Because some idiot drivers slow down to a virtual stand still when they see them even though they are not even close to speed limit

Causing cars behind to brake heavily. Seen it several times

    Not safe!!

The vans are also used for surveys.

Or he might have just stopped to make a phone call or have lunch.
